Amethyst Quartz
Amethyst is a variety of quartz that shows a wide variety of purple tonal colorations depending the place were the piece come from, this purple coloration is caused by Iron impurities in a different degrees, so every location give unique characteristics to their specimens, Mexico is the home of the most valuable Amethyst Specimens, coming from the states of Guerrero and Veracruz, in the localities of Amatitlán and Las Vigas respectively.

Other: Amethys can turn to Citrine if exposed to high temperatures
